WATCH: Bishop Robert Stearns and Dr. Jack Hayford, lead the largest annual global prayer movement for Israel, uniting millions in over 175 nations to stand together for the peace of Jerusalem
Two powerful global gatherings converged in Jerusalem’s heart yesterday. Hosted by Eagles’ Wings, the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ) and Awake Jerusalem brought together believers from across the nations for a historic moment of worship, prayer, and awakening at the Tower of David near Jaffa Gate.
From 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Jewish and Christian friends joined for the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem event, lifting their voices in unity to declare God’s promises of peace over the city and the people of Israel.
Foreign Affairs Minister Gideon Sa’ar attended the event, saying, “I hope that we are the closest to a hostage deal since the one in January. I want to thank US President Donald Trump for all his efforts regarding this huge mission of bringing all our hostages back home. The Israeli government is committed to bringing home all the hostages, dead and alive.”
The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, who was also in attendance, said, “At the heart of all our prayers is the return of the hostages, the end to the war, and the beginning of a new chapter in our region. So we pray we see our loved ones home as speedily as possible.”
During the gathering, singer Yuval Raphael, who represented Israel at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, gave a moving performance and shared her powerful story of survival from Hamas’s October 7 massacre. Raphael recounted the harrowing moments she endured and the hope that continues to guide her today.
Since its founding in 2002, the DPPJ has mobilized millions of believers from over 175 nations to intercede for Jerusalem, affirming Psalm 122:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May who loves you prosper.”
Later in the evening, the celebration continued as Awake Jerusalem transformed the Tower of David into a vibrant center of praise and proclamation. The evening of worship featured award-winning artists and global influencers such as Nate Diaz, Paul Wilbur, David Binion, Bryson Rory, and Ross Johnston.
Together, these back-to-back gatherings reflected the heartbeat of a growing global movement – one that believes Jerusalem is not only the center of biblical history but the epicenter of God’s redemptive future for the nations.
Bishop Robert Stearns, the founder and executive director of Eagles’ Wings, said, “As the world’s eyes are once again on Jerusalem, we stand shoulder to shoulder – Jew and Christian, Israeli and international – declaring that God’s covenant promises still stand. This is more than a concert or a prayer meeting; it is a prophetic sign that hope and restoration are rising from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. When we pray and worship together here, we are shaping history.”
The convergence of the Day of Prayer and Awake Jerusalem also marked the culmination of the Watchmen on the Wall Israel Tour, which brought hundreds of Christian leaders and believers to Israel this year to walk the ancient paths, meet local leaders, and strengthen ties between the church and Israel.
As day turned to night, worship echoed throughout the stones of Jerusalem’s Old City, declaring that peace – not conflict – must have the final word over Jerusalem.
