Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concludes Pakistan visit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concluded his two-day visit to Islamabad. Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif bid farewell to the Turkish President at Nur Khan Airbase. The Pakistani Premier thanked President Erdoğan for his timely visit, which would go a long way in further deepening strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the visit of the Turkish President, the Pakistan-Türkiye Business and Investment Forum was held in Islamabad. Prominent businesspersons, companies, and investors from Pakistan and Türkiye attended the moot. The forum aimed to strengthen economic cooperation, trade relations, and business linkages between the two countries.

In their remarks at the forum, the leaders vowed to increase the bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Türkiye to $5 billion per annum. The trade volume had already witnessed a 30 percent increase last year, reaching its highest level ever at $1.4 billion in 2024.

Before his departure, the Turkish President gifted the Turkish electric vehicle Togg to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. While thanking President Erdoğan for the thoughtful gesture, the PM lauded the strides made by the Turkish automotive industry and looked forward to future collaboration between Pakistani and Turkish automotive companies.
