The driving licences issued in Moldova will be recognized in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The government today approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two states, which will allow the mutual recognition and the conversion of the driving licences, according to Moldpres.
The agreement’s goal is to simplify and speed up the procedures for the Moldovan citizens who stay in UAE as regards the recognition of the driving licences. At the same time, the administrative formalities are to be reduced and their integration is to be facilitated.
At the cabinet meeting, the state secretary at the Interior Ministry, Alexandru Bejan, said that the Agreement was of major importance, in order to enhance the support of the Diaspora citizens, including through making efforts for the establishment and promotion of the bilateral relations with the United Arab Emirates and their strengthening in terms of driving licences’ conversion.
The Interior Ministry said that the initiating was aligned with the goals of the 2024-2026 National Development Plan and would provide the Moldovan Diaspora with full rights of movement and official recognition of documents.
Presently, Moldova has already concluded similar agreements with Israel, Turkey, Albania, Lithuania, France, Greece, as well as a declaration on the transcription of the driving licences with Germany.
