Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with Argentine Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein in Jerusalem, according to The Press Service of Israel (TPS-IL).

During the meeting, Sa’ar expressed appreciation for Argentina’s “courageous friendship with Israel under the leadership of President Javier Milay,” as well as for the minister’s warm connection to Israel.

The two discussed continuing to strengthen bilateral relations between the countries in preparation for President Milley’s expected visit in March and Minister Sa’ar’s planned visit to Argentina.

Foreign Minister Sa’ar also updated his Argentine counterpart on the details of the outline for the release of the hostages.

Sa’ar made it clear that Israel is committed to all the goals of the war, including the release of all its hostages. Minister Sa’ar also said that Israel cannot end the war while Hamas controls Gaza, which would cause chronic regional instability and, of course, would also endanger the security of Israel and its citizens.

During their meeting, the two decided to establish working teams to further strengthen economic relations and the strategic alliance between the countries. The Israeli team will be headed by the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Adv. Eden Bar-Tal. As stated, it was agreed that Minister Saar will pay a return visit to Argentina soon.
