Kazakhstani President Tokayev meets Masdar, ADNOC CEOs

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev who is paying a working visit to Abu Dhabi, has met Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, and Khaled Salmeen, Chief Executive Officer, Downstream, at ADNOC, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.

At the meeting, the Kazakh President noted that partnership between Kazakhstan and Masdar had moved to a brand new level. According to him, the sides successfully signed all necessary agreements to implement a largescale project on construction of a 1GW wind power plant in Zhambyl region. The total volume of investments in the project is estimated to make $1.4 billion.

In turn, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the company’s plans to begin construction works and expressed interest in using local components for the production of wind turbines under this project.

The parties exchanged views on further expansion of Masdar’s presence in Kazakhstan and implementation of new important projects in renewable energy sources and digitalization.

The Head of State highlighted that Kazakhstan attaches huge importance to further development of partnership relations with ADNOC.

For his part, Khaled Salmeen underlined enormous prospects for interaction between the two countries’ oil and gas companies.

The parties discussed the issues of implementation of joint investment projects in oil and gas and in geological exploration, with special attention given to the cooperation in digitalization and AI.
