The Forum on Swift Response to Public Complaints, under the theme "People's City, Better Future," held in Beijing, China, on December 18-19.
The two-day forum was co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Media Group (CMG) and CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
With the 2024 annual theme of the forum "Modernizing for People-centered Urban Governance", a series of outcomes of the forum were released at the opening ceremony, including Compilation of Research Papers on Swift Response to Public Complaints in Beijing (2024), Cases of Urban Governance Innovation (2024), and Evaluation Report on Worldwide City Hotline Services and Governance Effectiveness (2024).
The forum, which gathered more than 160 guests from over 40 countries to share innovations in urban governance, featured an opening ceremony and a main forum, six parallel sessions and other supporting activities, as well as a closing ceremony.
Fan Yun, Deputy Editor-in-chief of CMG, Xu Haoliang, Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, Omar AL-Razzaz, former Prime Minister of Jordan, and Andreas Grammatikogiannis, Deputy Mayor of Athens made remarks at the opening ceremony.
During the panel sessions, relevant leaders from central government departments, heads of some domestic and foreign cities, and other guests from home and abroad, highlighted the importance of the urban governance, discussing the best ways to address challenges in this area.
