Some 147,000 Bulgarians abroad voted in October 27 snap elections

Some 147,000 Bulgarians abroad have cast their votes in the October 27 snap parliamentary elections, according to data based on 97.22% of the tally sheets processed by the section election commissions outside Bulgaria, reports the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

Polling day ended at 5 p.m. Bulgarian time on the West Coast of the United States and Canada.

Bulgarian nationals had the chance to vote in a total of 719 voting stations in 57 countries, with the largest number of them opened in Europe, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The vote went off without a hitch, and Bulgarians were able to exercise their right to vote without impediments, the press release further read.
