The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexei Overchuk, will lead a high-level delegation to Pakistan on 18-19 September. This announcement came from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Tuesday. He will hold meetings with the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Pakistan Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar. Pakistan and Russia enjoy cordial relations based on goodwill, amity and trust, which is reflected in the multi-faceted bilateral cooperation including in trade, energy and connectivity.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk will reach the Pakistani Capital Islamabad on a two-day visit on Wednesday leading a high-level delegation and will meet Pakistani leadership. It is worthy to mention that both Russia and Pakistan are members of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). The relationship between the two countries has grown manifold in the recent past.
