Today, millions of people in the world are suffering from discrimination, Gabriela Ramos, the Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, said at the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, it is very important to promote peace: "I believe that we will achieve our goals. We must promote peace and dialogue. We see a ten percent increase in anti-Semitism and Islamophobia around the world. Today, millions of people in the world are suffering from discrimination. In this case, we must focus on dialogue. Women's voices should be heard at such events. I thank President Ilham Aliyev, who made it possible for us to make our voices heard from such a platform."

Gabriela Ramos also said that they are trying to create a dialogue mechanism among the countries: "There are fewer conflicts in a society where dialogues exist. But dialogue is also the basis of peace and sustainable development. We are working to create an environment of dialogue in Sri Lanka, Rwanda, and Ukraine. We also want to deepen our cooperation with Azerbaijan."
