Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has called for a ban on the export of ammunition from Europe to countries other than Ukraine. This is due to the acute shortage of shells in the Ukrainian army, Report informs referring to RBC-Ukraine.

“All contracts for the export of ammunition produced in Europe to third countries must be suspended and must be sent to Ukraine. Every cartridge produced in Europe must serve the purpose of defending Europe,” he said.

In addition, Kuleba blamed the Western allies for the lack of ammunition.

“I complain about the shortage of ammunition at every meeting with our partners. They decided late to increase their own production, enter into long-term contracts and launch new production lines... We are making every effort to ensure that ammunition is now purchased by European states in third countries and provided to Ukraine,” the minister added.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that the European Union would not be able to provide the promised million shells to Ukraine by the previously agreed deadline - March 1, 2024. By this time, the EU countries will only have 600,000 units of ammunition.
