Official Ankara offered to mediate between Pakistan and Iran, the Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement, Report informs.
It was noted that Türkiye is worried about the tension between Tehran and Islamabad: "We believe that it is important to solve the problem on the basis of UN principles, on the basis of territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries. We wish to resolve the issue based on dialogue and cooperation without creating more threats to regional security and stability," the statement reads.
Official Ankara called on the parties to dialogue: "Türkiye is ready to share its experience and contribute to the process."
In addition, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.
During his speech at the press conference held in Oman together with his counterpart Ayman Safadi, Fidan said that Ankara has been following the tension between the parties for two days with concern: "My counterparts told me that they are not interested in tension. I hope so. We are ready to do our part for stability."
