Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan plans to appoint his godfather David Khudatyan to the post of governor of the Armavir region, Report informs referring to the Hraparak newspaper.
Khudatyan currently holds the post of head of the Armavir community. His administration, according to the newspaper, is already discussing the issue of his successor.
According to some reports, Khudatyan will be replaced by his first deputy Varsham Sargsyan.
Governor of Armavir region Edward Hovhannisyan was relieved of his post on January 5 after the prime minister’s visit to the region. During a visit to several villages, Pashinyan criticized the regional administration over the quality of construction of new gyms in schools.
