Six trucks with diesel fuel have also crossed the border into the enclave, TASS reported citing al-Qahera al-Ihbaria.

A total of 40 trucks carrying humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza were sent through the Rafah checkpoint, al-Qahera al-Ihbaria reported.

According to the report, six trucks with diesel fuel have also crossed the border into the enclave. Since the beginning of Saturday, a total of 250 people with double citizenship have been evacuated to Egypt.

Previously, the UN Security Council passed the draft resolution, prepared by Arab states, which aims to simplify the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The resolution was supported by 13 countries, while Russia and the US abstained.

Later, the two main radical Islamic groups operating in Gaza - Hamas and the Islamic Jihad - criticized the Security Council resolution. Hamas called it an "insufficient step that does not meet the demands of the catastrophic situation in the Strip." The Islamic Jihad believed that the UN resolution on Gaza "is unable to stop the crimes of [Israeli] authorities against the Palestinian people and is unable to satisfy even the minimal demand for humanitarian aid."

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7. Hamas has cast the attack as a response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel has declared a complete siege of the Gaza Strip and started a military operation there. Israel also strikes parts of Lebanon and Syria in retaliation for bombardments originating from these countries. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
