Erdogan, Biden mull Gaza settlement

Turkish and US Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Joe Biden have had a telephone conversation during which they discussed resolving the crisis in the Gaza Strip, Report informs.

“Issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, bilateral relations between Türkiye and the US, the process of Sweden’s membership in NATO, as well as global and regional problems were discussed. President Erdogan said that the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip must be stopped as soon as possible, and that the US’ refusal from unconditional support for Israel can ensure a quick ceasefire,” reads the statement.

Erdogan added that “the historical responsibility of the US is to ensure a permanent ceasefire in the region as soon as possible.”
