The movement of trucks along the Georgian Military Road is temporarily suspended due to unfavorable weather conditions, the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry’s Department for North Ossetia said, Report informs via Russian media.
“Due to deteriorating weather conditions on the territory of Georgia and the impossibility of ensuring safe passage of vehicles, as well as taking into account the recommendations of the Georgian border police, the movement of heavy vehicles in the section between the city of Vladikavkaz and the settlement of Lars has been restricted. The vehicles are not allowed to move towards Georgia from 02:20 AM (GMT +3) December 2023 until further notice,” the ministry said.
The Georgian Military Road, running through the village of Nizhny Lars and the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint, is the only land route connecting Russia with Georgia and Armenia.
