An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 has been recorded in Afghanistan, XQ informs referring to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The epicenter was located 31 km northwest of the city of Herat, which is home to about 272,000 people. The outbreak lay at a depth of 10 km. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities yet.
Later, the Center reported another tremor, presumably an aftershock, with a magnitude of 5, three kilometers from the site of the previous earthquake.
On October 7, an earthquake occurred near Herat, the magnitude of which was also 6.3. According to the latest data, as a result of the tremors, 2,500 people died, tens of thousands were left homeless.
