The Baku State University (BSU) hosted Monday a meeting with Huawei representatives.
The meeting saw discussions on enhancing cooperation between the parties in information technologies and digitalization, exchange of experience, and implementation of joint projects to elaborate education and infrastructure in this sector.
Addressing the meeting, Rector Elchin Babayev provided insight into the history, activities, teaching and scientific activities of the university. Noting that BSU closely collaborates with prestigious universities and research institutes of China, he expressed the university’s interest in collaboration with international companies.
Angela Lin, Vice President of the Middle East and Central Asia Division of the Chinese information and communication technology company “Huawei”, underscored the company’s readiness to share its experience and resources in the field of education with BSU.
In conclusion, the parties agreed to take concrete steps for future cooperation. Thus, a group of ICT teachers and students will soon be involved in training in AI (artificial intelligence) and 5G in BSU, with a program entitled "ICT talents" to be launched at the university.
BSU and Huawei will approve an action plan, encompassing specific measures in ICT skills development, research, teaching, and knowledge and experience exchange.
