BHOS expands export of higher education programs to Uzbekistan

Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Ziba Mustafayeva has met with Rector of the Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute of Uzbekistan Sadokat Siddikova.

During the meeting, Ziba Mustafayeva emphasized that the implementation of dual diploma program projects between higher education institutions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was agreed upon during the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, held on July 18, 2023 in the city of Shusha, and was provided for in the Memorandum of Understanding on personnel training signed between SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz Joint Stock Company.

 

In addition, BHOS has already begun implementing a similar project with the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology of Uzbekistan.

The establishment of cooperation between BHOS and the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology and Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute is the first such step in the higher education system of Azerbaijan that serves the export of higher education programs of the country to foreign countries on a fee-paying basis.

An agreement has already been signed between the Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR and the Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute of Uzbekistan on the implementation of higher education programs on a fee-paying basis within the framework of the dual diploma project. According to the document, students will complete their first year of study at the Bukhara Engineering-Technology Institute, and the second year - at BHOS. The defense of diplomas will take place at Baku Higher Oil School. Eventually, they will receive diplomas from both universities.

 

The Vice President of SOCAR said that the cooperation agreed upon between the two universities during the recent visit to Tashkent in July is coming into legal force today, and that an agreement has been signed between Baku Higher Oil School and Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute on the implementation of a dual diploma master program in Chemical Engineering.

Speaking at the meeting, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Gasimov noted that this cooperation will make an important contribution to the expansion of educational, scientific research, and cultural ties and mutual exchanges between fraternal Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Rector of Bukhara Engineering-Technological Institute Sadokat Siddikova thanked the organizers of the meeting and expressed satisfaction with the cooperation.

During the visit of the delegation headed by SOCAR Vice President Ziba Mustafayeva to the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 21-25 this year, an agreement on personnel training was signed between Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) and the Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology.
