On March 28, IDEA Public Union, the official coordinator of the Earth Hour global campaign in Azerbaijan, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), co-organized a large-scale action dedicated to the Earth Hour 2026 initiative.
Around 80 institutions and organizations joined the global initiative by turning off the facade lighting of their administrative centers for one hour, beginning at 8:30 p.m. local time. Additionally, hundreds of young citizens living across various cities and regions of the country joined the campaign in a powerful display of global solidarity for our natural world.
IDEA Public Union, the official coordinator of the Earth Hour international campaign in Azerbaijan, would like to express gratitude to all institutions and organizations and individual participants who joined the Earth Hour 2026 campaign held in the country this year.
Every March, millions of people around the world join Earth Hour to show they care about the future of our planet. From iconic landmarks like Big Ben and the Sydney Opera House, to other iconic landmarks in cities across the globe, lights go out in a powerful display of global solidarity for our natural world.
This year, we’ll come together for the 20th Earth Hour, a milestone moment since the very first switch off in 2007. Since it began, Earth Hour has always been more than just an hour. It’s a chance to connect with what matters most - nature and each other.
