Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), met with a delegation of Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations led by its Chair Betsy Berns Korn.

During the meeting, Betsy Berns Korn expressed her satisfaction at visiting Azerbaijan with a large delegation. Noting that they are informed about Azerbaijan’s extensive experience in promoting interfaith cooperation, its long-standing tradition of tolerance, and its strong multicultural values, Betsy Berns Korn highly valued the opportunity to observe the country’s religious environment firsthand.

Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade informed the delegation about Azerbaijan’s model of tolerance, sharing his views on how this experience could be applied in other countries around the world. He outlined the historical and contemporary aspects of Azerbaijan’s model of interfaith dialogue and cooperation. He emphasized that tolerance, ethnic and religious harmony, and friendly interfaith relations are a vital reality in Azerbaijan—a way of life.

He further emphasized that religious communities in the country stand together in both joyous and difficult times, including during significant moments in the national history. Recalling the close unity of citizens of all religious confessions during the 44-day Patriotic War, and those who sacrificed their lives fighting shoulder to shoulder for the Motherland, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade proudly noted that the memory of all martyrs representing various religions and ethnicities is honored by every Azerbaijani.
