Azerbaijan’s judicial-legal delegation visits Albania

On December 15–18, An Azerbaijani delegation led by Mubariz Akbarov, member of the Judicial-Legal Council and Chairman of the Baku Court of Appeal, visited Tirana, the capital of Albania.

The visit aimed to become closely acquainted with the areas of activity, organizational structure, and court administration practices of the High Judicial Council of Albania, as well as to exchange advanced expertise on issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting with the Chairperson and members of the High Judicial Council of Albania, the Azerbaijani delegation was briefed on the organizational structure of the judicial system in Albania, court administration, monitoring and evaluation of judges’ performance, procedures for the selection and appointment of candidates to vacant judicial positions, as well as reforms and best practices implemented in introducing the electronic court system.

Subsequently, a representative of the Secretariat of the Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan delivered a presentation on the status and functions of the Judicial-Legal Council, Azerbaijan’s judicial system, latest reforms implemented to ensure judicial independence, and the capabilities of the “Electronic Court” information system.
