On December 7, participants of the International Parliamentary Conference titled "Parliamentarism: Traditions and Prospects" visited Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, beginning their tour in Fuzuli district.
Representatives from the office of the President’s Special Representative in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts welcomed the delegation.
The delegation first toured Fuzuli International Airport and then proceeded to Fuzuli city. They were briefed on the destruction and acts of vandalism committed by Armenia during the 30-year occupation and the ongoing reconstruction projects initiated by Azerbaijan after liberation. Fuzuli city, like other towns and villages in the region, had been looted and completely destroyed. Residential buildings, social facilities, and infrastructure were obliterated.
Following Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War, extensive restoration and development projects were launched across the liberated territories. Former internally displaced persons have started returning to their native lands and are settling in newly constructed residential complexes in Fuzuli city.
The delegation later departed for Shusha, accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Rafael Huseynov, committee chairpersons Ahliman Amiraslanov, Samad Seyidov, and Polad Bulbuloglu, as well as MP Tural Ganjaliyev and other officials.
