President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumarou Sisoko Embalo, who is visiting our country to actively participate in the Baku Climate Conference COP29, which will be held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, from November 11 to 22, has been elected as an honorary member of the editorial board of the My Azerbaijan International Magazine.
Editor-in-chief of the My Azerbaijan International Magazine, Academician of the International Academy of Sciences Emil Nasirli, who met with the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumarou Sisoko Embalo before the event, welcomed the distinguished guest and emphasized his commitment to supporting global efforts to protect the environment and reduce the negative effects of climate change. At the meeting, Emil Nasirli noted that by the decision of the editorial board of the My Azerbaijan International Magazine, the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumarou Sisoko Embalo was elected as an honorary member of the magazine and presented him with an honorary certificate of membership.
Then, Editor-in-Chief Emil Nasirli emphasized that the COP29 Conference to be held in Baku is one of the key steps in global efforts to combat climate change. Its goal is to mobilize political will and the necessary financial resources to overcome the challenges posed by climate change and implement strategies to achieve goals in this area. He emphasized that holding the conference in Baku shows that Azerbaijan has become a serious geopolitical player in the field of using renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, applying environmental technologies for the global fight against climate change.
Editor-in-Chief Emil Nasirli also noted that the My Azerbaijan International Magazine has been meeting its readers with interesting and informative articles for almost 20 years. The magazine’s staff has worked hard to convey the truth about Azerbaijan to the world reader and has made a lot of efforts in this direction. Emil Nasirli also noted that the My Azerbaijan International Magazine has done multifaceted, fruitful work in the direction of continuing cooperation with diaspora organizations, local and international institutions, influential personalities and socio-political figures who are friends of Azerbaijan. As a result, the My Azerbaijan International Magazine has acquired a wide readership not only in the republic, but also in different countries of the world as a monthly publication.
President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Oumaru Sisoku Embalo said that he follows with great interest the colorful materials published on the pages of the My Azerbaijan International Magazine and thanked the members of the editorial board of the magazine for awarding him the title of honorary member.
Then President Oumaru Sisoku Embalo said that on November 10 he met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and expressed gratitude to the head of state for organizing COP29 at a high level and the shown hospitality and expressed confidence in the success of this event. The meeting primarily touched upon the issue of cooperation between our countries in the field of education, and exchanged views on support and scholarships for the training of engineers in various fields and medical specialists from Guinea-Bissau. President Oumarou Sisoko Embalo stressed that COP29 will be an important step in developing new financing mechanisms and applying technologies needed to achieve global goals to reduce emissions and mitigate climate risks.
Further, the meeting included an extensive exchange of views on expanding relations between the leading media of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and the My Azerbaijan International Magazine in the direction of information exchange, the importance of these relations as a contribution to using the necessary means to popularize the Republic of Guinea-Bissau in Azerbaijan and our country in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, and there was expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the two countries.
