Young leaders from 18 countries gather in Baku to encourage international public support for COP29

Young leaders from 18 countries convened for an International Youth Forum "Supporting Environmental Policy Through Young Leaders" in Baku to discuss environmental issues, fighting against climate change, expanding environmental volunteering and etc.

Co-organized by the “Azerbaijan Democratic Student Youth Organization” Public Union, the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (NAYORA), with the support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the forum is playing host to 24 youth leaders from 18 countries, heads of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working with youth, as well as over 60 leaders of youth organizations from Azerbaijan, representatives of government structures, experts and other guests.

Environmental issues, climate change, fighting it, expanding eco-volunteering are in focus of panel discussions, attended by active youth leaders, youth NGOs' heads, specialists, and experts from France, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Spain, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Türkiye, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.

The forum will also feature discussions on cooperation, exchange and networking opportunities in the field of green world promotion and green participation. The forum’s participants will garner international public support for COP29, and organize panel discussions on the promotion of Azerbaijan's global activities for the sake of a green world.

In addition, there will be meetings with officials from government institutions, NGOs, and coalitions, calling for continued active participation in these areas.

The forum will run until September 13.
