As part of his visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora, held meetings with key Vietnamese officials, including Nguyễn Trung Kiên, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs; Lê Thị Thu Hằng, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
According to the State Committee, the discussions centered on the historic ties between the two nations and the strategic importance of reciprocal visits. Deputy Foreign Minister Lê Thị Thu Hằng described Azerbaijan as a reliable partner and friend, noting that exchanging expertise in diaspora affairs is essential for the successful integration of compatriots living abroad.
Furthering this sentiment, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism underscored the need for broader cultural and humanitarian ties. He praised Azerbaijan’s sophisticated diaspora management practices, expressing a keen interest in studying these models for future collaboration.
Chairman Fuad Muradov outlined the prospects for bilateral relations and cooperation within international organizations, emphasizing the integration of the Azerbaijani community into Vietnamese society. A highlight of the meeting was a presentation on Azerbaijan’s "new generation diaspora" initiatives, which was met with significant interest. The parties also expressed their support for the Vietnam-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, acknowledging its vital role in nurturing the historically rooted friendship between the two countries.
