Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis met with Grecia Colmenares, Second Vice President of the National Assembly of Venezuela on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul.

The sides reviewed the interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

They also hailed the cooperation between the two countries with several international organizations, including the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Sahiba Gafarova underlined that Venezuela supported all initiatives put forward by the Government of Azerbaijan during the country’s NAM chairmanship.

She also provided insight into the institutional development of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network established at the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as efforts to implement the organization's goals.

Second Vice President Grecia Colmenares praised the activities of the NAM Parliamentary Network, adding that Venezuela actively participates in the Network’s initiatives.
