Shahla Naghiyeva, Chairman of the “Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union and professor at the Azerbaijan University of Languages, and Gunay Hasanova, a digital artist and board member of the organization, represented Azerbaijan’s civil society at the event.

The Azerbaijani representatives held a series of meetings and discussions with delegations from international non-governmental organizations. The conference, focused on the role of culture in women’s access to justice, addressed women’s rights protection, the promotion of social justice through culture, and opportunities for international cooperation.

During the event, the “Sonmaz Mashal” Cultural Relations Public Union and two international NGOs signed memorandums of understanding. The agreements aim to expand joint efforts in protecting women’s rights, fostering intercultural dialogue, and implementing social projects.

On March 13, the Azerbaijani delegation also attended a side event organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where discussions centered on strengthening women’s role in society, promoting gender equality, and enhancing international cooperation.

The visit of the “Sonmaz Mashal” Public Union delegation was funded by Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Support to Non-Governmental Organizations. The conference will continue until March 19.
