Dutch FM thanks Azerbaijan for facilitating evacuation of its citizens from Iran
On March 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Tom Berendsen held a phone conversation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the phone conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the growing tension in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his Dutch counterpart on the drone attacks carried out by Iran on the territory of Azerbaijan and the security situation that has arisen. FM Bayramov stressed the inadmissibility of these attacks, which he said violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Minister Tom Berendsen expressed his concern over the situation and strongly condemned the attacks. He underscored the importance of ensuring regional stability. The Dutch minister also thanked Azerbaijan for facilitating the prompt evacuation of Dutch citizens.
During the telephone conversation, the officials also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, as well as other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
