On March 6, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Sudan Muhi Al-Din Salem Ahmed held a phone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
During the telephone conversation, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that on March 5, drone attacks were carried out against the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Minister Bayramov noted that the attacks caused damage to civilian infrastructure and individuals, emphasizing that such drone strikes contradict Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Bayramov informed his Sudanese counterpart that Azerbaijan demands explanation, and an apology from the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the attack, as well as taking necessary urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
The Sudanese Minister expressed concern over the attacks, stating that targeting civilian infrastructure is unacceptable.
