Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev held a phone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, during the call Minister Bayramov provided detailed information about Iran’s drone attacks. He noted that the attack carried out against the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan constitutes a violation of the norms and principles of international law and contributes to the escalation of tensions in the region. He emphasized that Azerbaijan has demanded an apology from Iran, an explanation regarding the incident, and measures to prevent such cases from recurring in the future.
The Kyrgyz minister expressed concern over the drone attacks against Azerbaijan’s territory and voiced solidarity with the country, stressing that such attacks contribute to further escalation of tensions in the region.
The sides also underlined the importance of preventing further escalation of the current situation in the Middle East, increasing diplomatic efforts, and respecting the norms and principles of international law in this context.
Minister Kulubayev thanked Azerbaijan for facilitating transit for Kyrgyz citizens currently in Iran through Azerbaijani territory, noting that the prompt support was highly appreciated.
During the phone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
