A working meeting was held between Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Auditors and the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority of Türkiye.
Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors, Professor Vahid Novruzov emphasized that the consistent economic reforms implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev contribute to a healthy business environment in the country, enhance investment attractiveness, ensure sustainable economic development, improve public financial management, and strengthen transparency and accountability.
Hasan Özçelik, Chairman of Türkiye’s Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority, noted that cooperation between the audit institutions of the two countries is of strategic importance for the mutual exchange of regulatory practices and improvement of audit quality.
Chairman of the Union of Economists of Azerbaijan, academician and MP Ziyad Samadzade highlighted the role of audit institutions in strengthening financial discipline and underscored the importance of economic and institutional integration among Turkic-speaking countries.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Auditors and Türkiye’s Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority. The Memorandum envisages the creation of a legal and institutional framework for cooperation in audit and accounting, as well as the enhancement of information and experience exchange.
