Azerbaijani FM briefs EU official on Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process

On January 15, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Magdalena Grono, Special Representative of the European Union (EU) for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of the Azerbaijan-EU cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, as well as regional and global developments.

The meeting also reviewed cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU in politics, economy, transport, energy security, and other areas, agreements reached within the cooperation platforms and mechanisms, and future steps.

Minister Bayramov briefed the EU official on the advancements and prospects of the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, highlighting Azerbaijan’s stance regarding this process. The meeting commended efforts and confidence-building measures undertaken within the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

The meeting also addressed other bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.
