The leading Russian media outlets published articles highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s interview with local TV channels.

The articles, published by news agencies “RIA Novosti”, “TASS”, “Vesti Caucasus”, “Interfax”, TV channel “360” and other media outlets, quoted the President of Azerbaijan saying: “I am now convinced that the people of Azerbaijan have no doubt that the Zangezur Corridor will be opened.”

The publication also noted that the head of state underlined that Azerbaijan is the only reliable country that can geographically connect Central Asia with the West today.

“Of course, from a geographical point of view, other routes can also be used. However, taking into account the current geopolitical situation, we can say with complete certainty that alternative routes for the West cannot be considered acceptable.”

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence in further expansion of Azerbaijan’s transit opportunities, noting the importance of development of transport infrastructure in the context of strengthening economic ties across Europe and Asia.

The articles emphasized the Azerbaijani leader’s stance on foreign policy challenges in the region and the need to strengthen sovereignty and security.

The media outlets also highlighted the remarks of President Ilham Aliyev regarding the need to completely waive Section 907, as well as his position on key aspects of bilateral relations and regional initiatives.
