Vladanka Andreeva: The experience I acquired in Azerbaijan is important for my future activities

Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, met with Vladanka Andreeva, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, on the occasion of the completion of her mission in the country.

The meeting highlighted the critical role of the cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies in overcoming the challenges caused by the refugee and internally displaced persons’ (IDPs) issues facing Azerbaijan.

Committee Chairman Rovshan Rzayev emphasized that addressing refugee and IDPs’ issues is a core part of the national social agenda, strongly supported by President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.

Vladanka Andreeva was informed about the ongoing efforts by the Committee to ensure the sustainable settlement of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) within the framework of the First State Program on the Great Return. Her efforts in cooperation with the State Committee as the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan was highly praised. It was noted that under her leadership, partnerships with UN agencies had deepened, resulting in better humanitarian and development projects for refugees and IDPs.

In turn, Vladanka Andreeva underscored the importance of the expertise she acquired in Azerbaijan for her future activities.

The meeting also addressed a number of issues of mutual interest.
