On December 22, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Vladanka Andreeva, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, on the occasion of the completion of her mission in the country.

Minister Bayramov commended the development of Azerbaijan-UN relations, expressing gratitude to the Resident Coordinator for her efforts and wishing her success in her future endeavors.

The meeting focused on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the UN, including progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The officials praised collaboration between Azerbaijan and UN specialized agencies.

FM Bayramov highlighted that Azerbaijan will host the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), the UN’s main platform on urbanization, in 2026, underscoring the country’s leading role in multilateral diplomacy.

The meeting also noted the successful completion of the 2021–2025 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. A new 2026–2030 framework, signed in October, marks a new phase in the Azerbaijan-UN partnership.

The Azerbaijani FM briefed the UN official on the country’s large-scale restoration efforts following the restoration of its territorial integrity, as well as steps taken to ensure stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus. He described the Joint Declaration signed in Washington on August 8 and the historical agreements reached as a crucial phase in advancing the peace process in the region.
