As part of his official visit to Algeria, Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was received by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations based on friendship and mutual respect.
The parties expressed interest in further expanding political dialogue and enhancing cooperation in the economic, educational, humanitarian, energy, transport, agriculture, tourism, scientific and technical fields.
They described the signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Algeria as a pivotal step towards advancing relations between the two nations.
Both sides also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation within international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement. They hailed Azerbaijan’s initiatives during its chairmanship of various international platforms, noting their contribution to enhancing the country’s role in international relations.
Minister Bayramov briefed the Algerian President on the history of Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan, the country’s vision for achieving sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus in the post-conflict period, as well as ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other regional and international matters of mutual interest.
