On September 15-17, the 11th meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea (HLWG) was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the delegations from Turkmenistan (head of the delegation - M.G.Atajanov), the Republic of Azerbaijan (head of the delegation - S.A.Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (head of the delegation – K.G.Abadi), the Republic of Kazakhstan (head of the delegation - Z.A.Amanzholova) and the Russian Federation (head of the delegation - N.N.Udovichenko).
The meeting was chaired by the head of the Turkmen delegation M.G.Atajanov.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the methods for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea. They also reviewed pentalateral cooperation in the Caspian Sea, as well as issues related to the preparation of the next meeting of Foreign Ministers.
The delegations expressed their gratitude to Turkmenistan for the excellent organization of the meeting.
The next meeting of the Working Group will be held in Azerbaijan on a date to be scheduled through diplomatic channels.
