Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister, delivered a report on the sidelines of the 3rd meeting of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, and Scientific and Technical Cooperation, held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Mammadov also met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang.

The sides discussed issues arising from the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, held in Baku on April 21 of this year.

They focused on the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in the political, trade and economic, energy, agriculture, transport, and humanitarian fields.

Deputy Minister Mammadov emphasized that the state visit of To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Azerbaijan on May 7–8 had elevated bilateral ties to a new level of strategic partnership. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening interparliamentary relations.

The meeting underscored the role of the Azerbaijan-Vietnam Intergovernmental Commission in fostering bilateral ties. The sides signed a protocol reflecting the outcomes of the 3rd Commission meeting and praised the adoption of an Action Plan for the period 2025–2027.

Both parties expressed confidence that the upcoming 3rd Vietnam Days, scheduled to be held in Baku at the end of July, will contribute to further deepening cultural ties between the two countries.
