Baku hosts meeting of PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy

On June 17, a meeting of the Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) kicked off in Baku.

The event brought together parliamentary delegations from the member states of the organization.

Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis was represented by MP Eldar Guliyev, head of the delegation, along with members Eldar Ibrahimov, Musa Guliyev, and Sabina Salmanova.

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Labour and Social Policy Committee and Chairman of the PABSEC Committee on Social and Humanitarian Policy Musa Guliyev briefed participants on the agenda.

He emphasized that one of the main objectives of cooperation within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) framework is to implement shared commitments aimed at improving social well-being, promoting human dignity, and building inclusive societies that leave no one behind.

He also noted that the meeting addressed current practices and strategies for enhancing education and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in BSEC member states.

The participants reviewed and adopted a draft report on the topic following a vote.

Secretary General of PABSEC, Academician Asaf Hajiyev wished the committee success in its future activities.
