Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss parliamentary relations

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis met with Alim Bayel, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, on Thursday.

During the meeting, the parties discussed relations between the two countries and parliaments, emphasizing that the reciprocal visits of the heads of state have given an impetus to the further development of bilateral ties.

They highlighted the rich history of friendly and fraternal ties between the two nations and expressed satisfaction with the mutual support both nations provide to each other.

Speaking about interparliamentary relations, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the joint activity of the parliaments is one of the key and positive factors influencing both bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. She praised the steady upward development of these interparliamentary ties.

The parties also underscored the importance of interaction between the parliamentarians within international organisations, with special emphasis placed on cooperation within the framework of TURKPA.

The Speaker emphasized that parliamentarians must continue their joint efforts to further strengthen TURKPA. She noted that cooperation within TURKPA brings the peoples even closer together and creates broad opportunities for the further deepening and strengthening of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Bayel also commended the high level of relations between the two countries and spoke about the ongoing efforts aimed at expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
