The Türkiye-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan business forum was held in Ankara with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade. The event was jointly organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and the Investment Promotion Agency of Uzbekistan.
The forum saw participation of 200 entrepreneurs from all three countries, representing sectors such as construction, food industry, pharmaceuticals, tourism, textiles, logistics, and more.
Key attendees included Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat, and Uzbek Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov.
The event highlighted the strengthening partnership between the three nations, emphasizing joint projects and regional cooperation. Speakers underscored the role of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in fostering economic ties and cited key agreements, including the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement, the Karabakh Declaration, and the Turkic Investment Fund, as significant milestones.
Investment cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye was a focal point, with Türkiye having received nearly $20 billion in Azerbaijani investments. Turkish businesses were also encouraged to participate in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories and take advantage of available incentives.
Participants emphasized the growing trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, alongside increasing transport and transit traffic along the Middle Corridor. They noted that the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company is currently implementing eight projects totaling $500 million. The opening of the Mirzo Ulugbek school in Fuzuli, a gift from Uzbekistan’s President on behalf of the Uzbek people, and the planned opening of a textile factory in Khankendi were highlighted as symbols of the strong brotherhood between the two nations.
Discussions focused on opportunities to further strengthen economic cooperation among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, enhance business partnerships, expand trade relations, and advance investment projects critical to the region.
TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) Orkhan Mammadov, and Acting Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments Mansurjan Rasulev provided insights into increasing trade turnover, regional transport and logistics potential, and business cooperation.
The forum concluded with business-to-business discussions.
