Ramil Usubov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting was attended by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration; Ali Alizade, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran; and Seyyed Jafar Aghayi Marian, Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan.
Discussions focused on measures to ensure national security and addressed issues such as combating terrorism, illegal drug trafficking, illegal migration, and other forms of transnational organized crime.
The Iranian delegation also visited the tomb of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Alley of Martyrs.
