Uzbek Foreign Minister offers condolences to Azerbaijani counterpart

Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov of Uzbekistan called his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

During the phone conversation, on behalf of the government and people of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov offered condolences for the tragic crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Aktau, en route from Baku to Grozny.

He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased, wished patience to their loved ones, and a swift recovery to the injured.

Saidov also emphasized Uzbekistan's solidarity with fraternal Azerbaijan during this difficult time, sharing in its grief and expressing hope that such a tragedy would never occur again.

In response, Jeyhun Bayramov expressed his gratitude to the brotherly Republic of Uzbekistan for its condolences and support.

FM Bayramov highlighted the immediate actions taken by Azerbaijan in the aftermath of the crash, including the formation of a State Commission, as instructed by President Ilham Aliyev, to investigate the cause of the crash. He noted that a delegation of senior officials from relevant institutions had been sent to Kazakhstan, and outlined the measures taken to assist the victims and address the consequences of the incident.
