“Thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s deep strategic vision and diplomatic efforts, the international energy projects realized and joined by Azerbaijan, a crucial transport and transit hub of Eurasia, have yielded political and economic dividends to our country. Azerbaijan implements mega investment projects in the energy and transport sectors in the region,” said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during his speech at the Milli Majlis plenary session on Monday.

Asadov emphasized the nation’s strategic goal of becoming a leading renewable energy partner for Europe. He referred to the 2022 agreement signed between Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary as a major step toward achieving this target.

He also detailed the government’s plans to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy balance to 30% by 2030, while declaring regions such as Nakhchivan, Karabakh, and Eastern Zangezur as green energy zones.
