Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Wednesday.

The discussions revolved around the Azerbaijani-Turkish alliance, the post-conflict situation in the region, developments in the Middle East—particularly in Syria—and other regional and international security matters.

The two exchanged views on the negotiations and discussions held during the 31st OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Türkiye on the appointment of Feridun Sinirlioğlu, an experienced Turkish diplomat as the OSCE Secretary General at the 31st OSCE Ministerial Council, saying that this achievement was welcomed with great joy in Azerbaijan. Jeyhun Bayramov wished success to OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu in his responsible role.

Simultaneously, FM Bayramov expressed Azerbaijan's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria, hoping that the ongoing crisis would be resolved based on the interest and will of the Syrian people.
