Azerbaijani parliament to host Green Karabakh international conference

A number of events will be held within the framework of declaring 2024 as the Green World Solidarity Year in the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, and the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku in November this year.

Report informs that this issue is included in the work plan of the Committee for the autumn session.

Thus, an international conference titled "National Parliaments, Environmental Human Rights and Sustainable Development - Green Karabakh" will be held during the session. The conference is expected to be attended by human rights committees of parliaments from Turkic states and other foreign countries.

Discussions on environmental human rights are also planned to be held jointly with environmentally-focused NGOs and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

At the same time, discussions on COP29 - environmental and national climate legislation, comparative analysis of world experience, and Azerbaijan will also be in focus.
