The safe and secure environment created during the campaign period for Azerbaijan's snap parliamentary elections served as the initial guarantee for conducting the elections in a democratic and free manner, according to a statement by the Democratic Reforms Party (DRP), Report informs.
The party, which fielded 5 candidates in the elections, noted that its leader Asim Mollazada is among the frontrunners based on the preliminary results announced by the Central Election Commission.
"Our observations on election day, together with international observers, proved that the elections were held in accordance with the law and in an atmosphere of free competition. Our party considers the conditions created for the candidates' campaign and promotion as an indicator of ensuring democracy and freedom of expression," the statement read.
