Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu has said that he is finishing his diplomatic mission in Moscow, according to TASS.

"I have been working in Moscow for 18.5 years. This is too a long term for diplomatic service. And at this point, I should better represent my native city of Shusha, the region’s residents in parliament. I hope very much that I will be elected and this will be a great honor to be the first lawmaker from Karabakh after its liberation. I wish I could devote the rest of my life - as long as Allah gives - to communicating with people and nature of my homeland," he said in an interview with TASS ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Baku.

He recalled that his father, a renown Soviet and Azerbaijani opera singer Bulbul, was born in Shusha in Karabakh.

"And in recent years after the liberation of our soil, my life has been tightly linked with my homeland. The matter is that the house where my father was born is there. And I restored this house, which had been ruined by Armenian vandals, on the instruction from [Azerbaijani] President Ilham Aliyev. Now it houses a museum. I am glad that many tourists are coming to Shusha and are visiting the Bulbul museum. So, my decision (to run for a seat in parliament - TASS) is quite natural," he said.

"It gives me peace of mind to be in Shusha. Crystal clear air, beautiful nature, wonderful people. I can be useful in a new capacity with my life experience and record of administrative and diplomatic work," he added.
