Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has prepared a practical guide, the “Election Day” handbook, to raise awareness among various election stakeholders regarding the snap parliamentary elections scheduled for September 1, 2024, the CEC told AZERTAC.
The main goal of the project and the booklet is to educate members of the constituency election commissions about Election Day procedures and enhance their professionalism.
The handbook provides detailed information on the roles and tasks of commission members, the opening of polling stations, measures during voting hours, handling exceptional circumstances, closing polling stations, counting ballots, and filling out official protocols to determine election outcomes.
The edition is based on the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and legal documents approved by the CEC.
The “Election Day” handbooks have been distributed to constituency election commissions and are also available on the CEC official website (www.msk.gov.az).
