Swiss ambassador informed about work done to reinforce women’s empowerment in Azerbaijan

Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs met with Thomas Stähli, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the country.

During the meeting, Bahar Muradova emphasized that bilateral relations with Switzerland are based on mutual interests, friendship and cooperation.

Highlighting the State Committee's cooperation with international organizations towards the women's economic empowerment, Bahar Muradova hailed the activities of Women's Resource Centers. She underscored the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the Resource Centers’ activities, adding that Switzerland's involvement in these projects contributed to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Thomas Stähli expressed his confidence that mutual relations would continue to develop fruitfully. He underlined that the continuation of efforts related to gender equality and women's empowerment is one of the embassy’s priorities. The ambassador commended the State Committee’s activities in this area, saying that they are open to joint collaboration.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
